I believe we're on the verge of something great. Writing this from my apartment in LA, fresh out of college, with Avalanche being available for everyone to listen to. This ride is about to be very exciting. Booked a show out in Orlando, and a show in LA when I come back. People are saying great things about Avalanche, I know the song has potential for sure. The EP has been pushed to a early 2026 release date, which I'm cool with. A lot of the songs on there are NOT typical singles, but they all serve as a great starting point to the stories I want to tell. Since you're reading this, the upcoming EP will be based off Carl Jung's individuation steps, which are focused on encountering yourself and separating who you are from who you want to be. It involves ego death, self hatred, but ultimately, growth. Each of the songs on the EP represent those phases. Avalanche represents the integration of the lessons you've learned from facing your inner abyss into your daily actions. That's why the song is mostly positive, but falls apart near the end. The light is there, but the shadow shines through because of the pain you've felt watching your ego die. I'm excited man. This story needs to be told right.
Confront Yourself
Hey all,
Spiral was just released a couple weeks ago and I'm blown away by the reception. Across the board listener new and old have told me consistently that this song is an essential step forward in my career. I hope the message of the song rings true, though. It may be misconstrued as a doom and gloom sad boy anthem about hating yourself and giving in to your doubts and fears. Allowing them to rule you and keep you stuck where you are. While it kind of is about that, it's moreso the theme song of The Mask. The song should serve as a reminder that if you allow The Mask to be more in control than the good part of yourself, which as of now I believe I'll call “The Healer”, then you will be stuck in a cycle or plateau. It's completely up to you, and having the resolve to win that war going on in your subconscious. Once you open The Door, and realize The Mask exists, you will fight him until you die. You will spend your life silencing him, running from him, trying to kill him, but he never goes away. He is your doubt, your fear, your guilt, your insecurity, your shame, and he will always live inside of you. But so will The Healer. So will the hope, so will the love, so will the confidence you make for yourself. Your life will become doom and gloom, and you will become “empty”, the second you let love die. If you don't quit, you'll never be denied.
When I said there's more to come, I meant it.
I'm proud with how Happy turned out, but the process of releasing and marketing your own music is not something you can pick up easily. It's truly an art of its own. I will not sacrifice the vision I have for this project in favor of marketability, or to fit a release schedule. This is why the music video and upcoming music are taking so long. I will not rush anything about this project, or sacrifice the stories I want to tell, just so y'all can get it sooner. I do feel bad though, this is why I'm releasing covers on my social media, and as always I'm releasing demos on my Soundcloud. I truly am sorry and I hope you all can understand. The fact that you care enough to read through this already means the world, and you are the reason I won't do anything pertaining to my music halfway. There IS more to come, very soon, and I truly hope you'll believe it was worth the wait.
thank you
-Josh
LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!
"This is your project as much as it's mine! Give me any thoughts on the music, socials, or whatever you think I could do better, or if you'd just like to make some observations as far as song lyrics go or whatever's on your mind that pertains to my music. I look forward to what you have to say!"- Josh
